Caden sat at the table, sipping tea. It was still early and Alexis was asleep. They had agreed to dine with his family next. That would take care of his grandfather, aunt and uncle. But before that, he had to tell his parents. Taking out his phone, he hesitated before selecting his mother’s name and hitting the call button. Caden sat, listening to the rings. He hoped his mother was not in the middle of a project. “Hello? Caden?” a warm voice answered. “Bonjour maman,” Caden answered.[1] “Sweetie, it’s so good to hear your voice,” Macey gushed. “I was just thinking about you. How’s New York? How is everyone?” “They are all good,” Caden smiled. His mother might have missed his voice, but he missed hers more. “New York is the same as ever. It’s not like it’s a new place.” Macey chuckle
