Scarlett Brown - The Half Witch

Chapter Seven

"I-I'm s-sorry I didn't see y-you t-there..my mind was... I didn't mean t-" the words weren't coming out of my mouth but neither did he let me finish my broken sentences. "Well then concentrate" He said a little too harshly for my liking. "You aren't supposed to be loitering around these areas, turn around and get back to your room." who the hell does this man think he is!

"Excuse me!!" I was furious, to top of all that I was going through I really didn't have the patience to deal with this rude man. "Who the hell do you think you are to come tell me what to do. You saw me coming why didn't you step away, huh? You go around giving me death glares like I bloody killed your cat and now this?! What is your problem with me?!"

I saw his lips move up a little and that managed to tip me off even more. He was enjoying my discomfort. I huffed not wanting to continue this but he stepped in front of me he looked down at me his eyes shone with mischief and he smirked even more. God damn he is handsome.

I shoved past him and went on the other direction, "Scarlett!" his deep commanding voice stopped me from taking another step. He came closer so close that I could feel his breath fan my cheek I looked up at him and when he looked down a few strands of his hair covered his face, he held my gaze his blue eyes making it hard to breath. "School is that way" he pointed in the direction I initially came from. My cheeks flamed from embarrassment. I quickly turned and walked back to my dorm room.

When I got back to the dorms Amanda and Hanna dragged me off to the auditorium because the headmistress had called for a meeting. Hanna made us sit at exactly the same seats we took the first time for the introduction speech with Mrs Henderson. "So apparently Mrs Henderson had a really bad accident and now we have a new headmaster, his name is Mr Brown" Amanda whispered to me.

"and damn is he easy on the eyes" Hanna purred when the man in plain black suit walked up the podium. He was very handsome to be honest. His hair was combed back neatly and his well sculpted face spotted a beard which was neatly kept. He had a slight scar on his left cheek which only seemed to add on to his good looks.

Hanna was practically eye r****g the man. I tapped her hand so she could focus but she shushed me making Amanda laugh. I laughed only to stop at the sight of Antonio, "Apparently his name is Antonio Vedal. He is vice president and part of the SRC. He graduated last year but came back on a secret mission." I furrowed my eyebrows at her last statement "I don't really believe the last part either but I gathered that much about him." Hanna said.

"How do - what are you- why are you"

"Telling you this? Because we notice how you guys keep eye r****g each other in the hallways" Amanda scoffed.

"and I mean he maybe a couple of years older than you but he is really hot. You guys should just come together already" Hanna added while checking her nails like what she said was the most normal thing ever. "and besides why wouldn't a hot and delicious Portuguese man like him not notice a beautiful and sassy.... Where are you from again?" We laughed at that, they always made fun of my small town.

"I can't believe you two" I rolled my eyes, folded my hands and decided to pay attention. One of the school members finished introducing Mr Brown and he took over the microphone to speak.

"May I have your attention students" Mr Brown's voice barred through the speakers. It made me feel uneasy. "As you may have heard," he looked over the crowd searching,

"Mrs Henderson had an unfortunate accident a few nights ago."

I could feel my anxiety and pressure build up and his eyes kept searching.

"So the board had recruited me to come fill in for her while she is away. I shall be her replacement."

He looked over to our row and my heart jumped to my throat.

I couldn't breath and again it's like Rosaline decided to make an appearance

"My name is Tomas Brown." his eyes caught mine and I started screaming.

It wasn't me, it was her. I could feel her fear trembling through my body paralyzing me. Her voice was ringing in my head again,

"Run away!!"

Amanda tried to hold me down but I couldn't hear her I couldn't hear anyone but the voice inside my head. I couldn't breath I couldn't see

I could feel myself being lifted, thankfully I learnt it was Amanda. She lead me out of the room away from all the prying eyes."Scarlett stop screaming"

I didn't realise I was still screaming my head was beginning to hurt and eventually everything went black.

"Ms Brown," A soft voice in the distance called my name. It sounded sweet and calming but it was getting louder and the lights were getting too bright for comfort. "Scarlett can you hear me" my eyes fluttered open and a pair of kind brown eyes looked down at me.

I quickly got up and fierce pain shot through my head. "Your head hurts, here drink this" She handed me two white pills, not carrying to ask what they were I just took them.

"I don't mean to be rude but who are you and what am I doing here?" she just smiled at me. I felt at peace seeing her face its like I was under a spell, every time I looked at her I'm made to feel safe and some what better.

"My name is Sara. I'm one of the school's nurses. You seemed to have had a mental breakdown and your friend Amanda brought you here. You had collapsed outside the auditorium how do you feel now?" even her voice was soothing. I wanted to smile and be just as polite as she was. I had to snap out of it.

"I'm much better now thank you." like a truck's load tumbling down the events came back to me. Rosaline had possessed me and she was very much afraid of the man called Tomas Brown.

There was a small knock on the door "Come in" Ms Sara said. Amanda and Hanna peeked through to see if it was okay to enter. Then they both rushed in when they saw that I was up. "Oh my Goodness Scar I was so worried about you. I was so scared. Was it her? Did you see her again?" Hanna fussed over me hugging me and touching my face and body looking for any damage.

The poor thing was really scared. I felt so bad for her, "it's okay Hanna I'm fine." I eyed Ms Sara for a bit worried that she might have heard. "We will talk about that later." Amanda walked closer to me, "well, how are you doing Ms Sara said we could leave now if you feel well enough to walk," I nodded and got up on my own to show them I'm much better. "We can leave right now" I said.

Hanna gathered my things and we got ready to leave. "Oh before you leave," Ms Sara said to us. We turned back to look at her, "The new headmaster would like to have a word with you Ms Brown."

I nodded and said my thank yous before leaving. She mad me feel uneasy and I just wanted to get away from her.

Hanna and Amanda walked me back to the main building. I didn't know how I was going to explain myself, I was pretty sure the reason he called for me was because of the my little show during his introduction speech.

The girls left me at the door and went back to the dorm at my insistence, I felt like I needed to be alone. I took a few deep breaths and knocked on his door.
