I stayed up that night
Sleep had decided to evade me and my mind was on overdrive. Would that be the reason why she kept haunting me. Hanna turned in her sleep, her face turned towards me and she slowly opened her eyes and noticed that I was awake. My light was toned down to the lowest level which seemed to alert her.
"What's wrong, why are you not sleeping?" Hanna asked. I didn't know if I should tell her but I decided what harm would it do if I did tell her. "uhm..do you remember I told you I kept having weird dreams about Lady Rosaline" Hanna nodded and sat up straight her legs hanging off her bed.
"I found out that we share the same names." her eyebrows furrowed and she looked confused. "What do you mean? How do you two share the same names?"
"My full name is Scarlett Rosaline Johanna Brown and her full name is Rosaline Johanna. I was just thinking what if she and I are related somehow. Why do the two of us share the same names? Yes, I guess it can be a coincidence but it doesn't feel like it." Hanna looked like she didn't know what to say. I didn't either the more I found out about this lady the more questions surfaced. “I have to find out more about her and what sort of relationship the two of us could possibly share."
Hanna nodded, "yea because this is getting kinda creepy. You might be a direct descendent of hers, who knows right? Well how about this" she scoots a bit closer to me from the edge of her bed, "I found this really old section of the library just the other day I'm sure they would have more information about her somewhere so I think we should go take a look. We would definitely find something there."
Hanna was right the only way to find out is to research and if digging through piles of old books meant solving the mystery then I'd be more than happy to. We agreed that tomorrow during our free period we would go on a full hunt but for tonight it was best to sleep.
I turned my light off and tried to sleep. Unfortunately a whole hour passed by and all I could do was toss and turn on my bed. A few more minutes of tossing and turning but still nothing. So I decided to go to the kitchen downstairs and get something to drink.
I grabbed a glass and decided on water to cool myself off. From the corner of my eye I saw some movement. I turned around but saw nothing.
"Hello, is anyone there?" I said out loud moving away from the sink to the check around the corners but I saw nothing. For a second I decided it was just my imagination and lack of proper sleep these past two weeks. I was wrong, I turned back and there she was. Her impeccable appearance was gone replaced by an image of a woman so torn and weary. She wore a black and red gown that seemed to adorn her body beautifully it was beautiful just as she but it was disturbed by something that seemed like it didn't belong there, the gush of blood stain that was on her left side, situated precisely where her heart was supposed to be was a black oak curved into a knife plunged into her.
My glass slipped out of my hand and I covered my mouth. Her scarlet blazing eyes looked at me with fear, she came closer, "nnno-no please don't" I was trembling I was so scared but my screams weren't coming out. "Run, he will find you just as he found me you have to get away " she got closer and this time the scream vibrated out of my body without warning, "Run!! you are not safe here Letty run before they find out who you really are, he will kill you once he knows!!" she screamed now running towards me and I crouched down using my arms to cover my head.
I didn't realise I was still screaming until I felt something connect with my fave bringing me back to reality. I realised that Amanda had slapped me, the lights were on and almost all the girls were staring at me. Ms Clara was trying to walk through the crowd that had formed and was instructing the girls to go back to their rooms but everyone was too curious to move. Hanna held on to me rocking me back and forth while rubbing my back. I couldn't move I could still hear her voice in my head.
"Come on now girls take her up stairs and lay her down" Ms Clara instructed, Amanda and Hanna took each side of arms and lifted me slowly they helped me up to our room, surely grateful that we were on the first floor, and lay me down on my bed. I could still see her face the blood oozing through her wound the large stake too. It was becoming too much.
"okay everyone please leave now we will let her rest." Amanda instructed the more curious girls who entered our room. "You too Hanna just let her rest we will speak to her tomorrow." My breathing was slowly getting back to normal now that the trembling had stopped, I craved for sleep to take me away. I closed my eyes and hoped for it to all begone by tomorrow.
True to her word Amanda gave me a whole investigator's questioning the very next day. At least she had allowed me the morning to rest but after lunch she pulled me into the cafe for questioning."So you really saw her, like as in she was standing right in front of you?" Hanna asked me. Amanda gave her an exhausted look then rolled her eyes. "And what did she say" Amanda asked me.
"She told me to run, that they might find out who I really am, it's not safe here, he will find me, he will kill me once he knows." They looked at me confused I just shrugged. "I don't know what she meant by that and honestly I don't want to talk about it anymore I'm really exhausted by it all." They both stopped eating probably out off by the whole situation, the food didn't look appealing to me too. I decided to go take a walk.
I walked mindlessly along the ground and eventually far away from the main building, I kept away from the dorm rooms wanting to be completely alone with my thoughts. I tried not to think about last night but I couldn't help it. Her words kept ringing in my ears and my mind kept trying to decipher her warning, who was she talking about, Rosaline Johanna and I had nothing in common but the names so what did she mean by that, what was she so scared o- I felt two strong hands hold onto my arms as I almost bumped in to someone. "Would you watch where you're going!" the man said harshly letting go of me. I looked up and it was him.
The same guy who had been starring at me in the hallways more times than I could count.
The same man with the eyes that pieced through to my soul.
His hard look dissipated once his eyes locked with mine and he seemed to realise who I am. He looked at me for a long while and once again the ice-blue eyes froze my being and I whispered out his name;
"Antonio Vedal"
