TWO WEEKS LATER
I stared out of the window of the hotel and sighed. I could hear Mace move in my head, but he was laying down. I left the pack the next day after the party with Dixon and Dan to look for Verity, but there was no sign of her. It was like she had dropped off the face of the earth.
My father didn't have a say about me leaving as I still hadn't told him about Verity, but he knew something was up even though I mentioned it was all about the new project. My mother was hellbent on me finding my mate that night but was disappointed that I didn't find her.
I looked around the whole town and even asked the woman she worked for if she knew where she was, but even that was a dead end. If I remember rightly, Verity and her didn't even get along when she was there.
