After the witches settle Maddy into her bedroom, one of them creates a portal that links the Night Grove coven house to the Blood Warrior packhouse, giving me guaranteed safe passage without having to step off warded territory. My mind is a muddled mess the entire time, and I can’t seem to stop remembering the vivid image of Maddy, a witch I barely know, strung up and half-dead simply because of her association to me.
