Josie guides Avery to sit down close to the bars so that they can have a conversation. Avery’s body is so deteriorated that she looks nearly unsteady on her feet. No matter the condition, Josie knows that with enough work Josie can have her good as new at some stage, it won’t be a fast process, but Avery is far from a lost cause and Josie will do anything for a girl that she has such an affinity with.
“What do you know?”
“I really don’t know anything”
“Just tell me about this room. Do guards enter? Do the brothers come?”
Avery just shakes her head and nods to the box in the corner.
“We are left alone all the time, we get a shower once a week and our food gets restocked once a week, we have to ration, if we are too greedy on the first day, we starve on the last day”
