Sarah pulled the phone away from her ear when she heard Alexander scream at her. She was confused and terrified all at the same time because she had no idea how he got her phone number, let alone how he could be calling her if he were currently in jail for attacking her. Carter was fuming when he heard the derogatory threat that Alexander made. His heightened sense of hearing made it even louder to his ears.
Without thinking, Carter grabbed his phone, turned on the recording feature, and signaled for Sarah to turn the call on speaker.
“How did you get this number?” Sarah asked as her voice trembled.
“Did you honestly think using burner phones could keep you safe? I’m Alexander Kim! I have my way of finding out what I need! You’re stupid to even think of trying
