I wasn’t surprised to learn that douchebag of an ex-husband had found me. Knowing that he figured out my newest phone number only solidified my confidence that there was no hiding from him. Not forever, anyway. I mean, Allie was able to hide from her ex for four years, but he still found her.
“Here, drink this,” Carter said as he handed me a mug of hot tea.
“Thanks,” I smiled. I used it to warm my hands.
“Nari-ya!” I heard an all too familiar voice. I looked up to see Allie walking into the living room. “Are you okay?”
