“Wait, what!?” I shouted at the top of my lungs. “What do you mean that she wasn’t a social worker? And who the hell did you find that out on such short notice!?” By this point, I was on my feet, getting in my father’s face. “If she wasn’t a social worker, then who the f*ck was she!?”
“Calm down, Sin,” Allie said as she placed her hands on my shoulders. “Take a breather. Getting worked up like this isn’t going to change the information. Okay?” she said softly and gently pushed me down to sit. I felt Mikey take my hand in his, which calmed me somewhat.
“Tell me who she was,” I said calmly.
“We don’t know,” my father answered. “When I met her, she said she was a social worker; however, what she told me completely contradicts what you were told.”
