Yasmyn's POV

Adi and I are now walking back to the palace in pure silence. I know he has a hundred questions in his head, but he is not asking me.

"You can talk to me, Adi" I whispered but he only shook his head at me.

"I realised you are not a little kid who needs my protection anymore," Adi said.

That made me stop walking. Adi stopped too, and he stared back at me. I looked into his eyes to see what emotion he was holding in at the moment.

And I couldn't find any.

"I thought you are a little girl. And to me, you are. You didn't even have your first shift but here we are.. Brendan Rivera is your mate.! I hope you know how powerful he actually is. I know people say he is strong enough to fight me even though I lose. But now.? With me in this state? He can actually fight and take the crown if he wants," Adi said.

And that brought goosebumps all over my skin. Brendan is actually capable of that. If he wants to, then he will. Me and all of the Royal family would be doomed.

"I wanted you to have better connections. Connections come through a sense of safety. People will trust you when they know you keep them safe. What's better than keeping the Rogues at bay.? But turns out you have connections with the Rogues too," Adi whispered as he shook his head.

And now I am at a loss of words. I don't really have connections. My life is so messed up, that people I know are ending up becoming my connections.

Especially with Colton. I did not see this coming really.

"Adi listen," I said as I went to hold his hand.

But something stirred in me. In a way like never before. My vision has gone blurry and I felt a heavier presence in the back of my head.

I blinked my eyes, trying to gain some focus but I failed terribly.

"Something is wrong," I managed to whisper and the next second, I was falling down.

My legs simply gave up.

"Oh s**t you are shifting early," Adi said and that was all I heard before I went blank.

I am shifting. And that too early. Ten days early. I guess this is either going to kill me or make me powerful.
