Yasmyn's POV

"The only information I have gathered so far is that he went away on a mission and he'll be back soon. No idea on where he actually went through," Brendan said and I nodded.

Now that's another strange thing happening here. Silas warned me so many times. That the palace is not how it once was. He warned me to lay low. To not talk about anything so easily because even the walls have ears.

And just like that, he disappeared. No one knows where to. That's even more insane.

"I want to write to all the Alphas that the coronation will be postponed indefinitely. I'll still act as the working Royal but unofficially," I told Brendan and he looked at me with his eyes narrowed.

"What?" I asked him again and he shook his head at me.

"I don't think that works. Because the Alphas are already on their way. Even if you do write to them, then they'll already be here by the time your letters reach them. Also, who the heck writes letters these days?" He asked me and I sat in silence.

He does have a point. I don't know how these things work. I naturally thought letters were the only way but turns out it's not.

There was a knock on the door to my office. And I smiled when I noticed it was Colton.

Brendan looked at me so I quickly masked that smile and turned it into a glare. Colton walked and sat on the chair beside Brendan, making him stand up.

He doesn't even want to sit beside a Rogue. And honestly, no one does. So I wouldn't blame him for that.

"Can I speak to her in private?" Colton asked Brendan.

Brendan scoffed and opened his mouth to say something but couldn't. The look on my face dared him to stop and not say another word. That's exactly what he did.

"I'll call you back," I whispered to which Brendan looked like he was taken aback. And rightfully so.

"Also," Colton said as Brendan was about to leave,"Can you stay at the door and make sure no one interrupts us? Thank you"

I was surprised. Not just a little but a lot. Brendan looked at me with a glare but one nod from me got him bowing to me and leaving my office.

I stared at Colton with my eyebrow raised and he shrugged his shoulders. This was unnecessary but knowing Colton, he likes dramas like these.

"What.? Treating your mate like that was fun," he said to which I opened my mouth to scoff.

But Colton beat me to it and he stood up, bent over, pulled me to him with his hand at the back of my neck, and kissed me.

I know this is going to be scandalous. But I kissed him back.

I can't seem to stop for some goddamn reason!
