“I heard your mother mention that you were having trouble with your magic.”
“Excuse me?” She immediately feels defensive. “Are you spending your free time eavesdropping?!”
“No, I just have very sharp wolf hearing. Anyway, don’t stray off.” He grins. “I thought that if I showed you something special, it might help.”
“Oh? And what is so special that it would help my magic?”
A bright blue light forms in his hands, and he throws it up into the air where it bursts into beautiful colours like fireworks.
“That’s just a magic trick. Anyone can do that.” She knows that he probably knows by now that she, in fact… can’t. Her magic is of the earth.
