“Demitri…?” I feel myself wake up out of nowhere and I look around the room. It is dark and completely empty other than me and little Anya. I look down at her snuggled close to my chest and realize she is still perfectly asleep. I smile down at her as she continues to rest and I brush the hair out of her face. I still have issues wrapping my head around what all has happened to her. She is just a child. She should have never had to go through any of this let alone go through it by herself. This child is strong and she deserves to be rewarded for her strength along with finding a home for herself. I know it might be a long shot, but I wonder if Demitri would be willing to adopt her? We could add her to our family and she could be the first communal child of everybody in the house. I know
