Scarlett wasn’t stupid. From the way Marlow treated Francis and Francis tried to speak but checked himself repeatedly, she knew that there must be a story between the two of them.
Now Francis’s request showed that he wanted to clear out something with Marlow. So Scarlett said with a smile, “Sure, you can. We will cooperate with the police as much as we can.”
She called Lina in and asked her to lead Marlow and Francis to a small meeting room. They could be alone and talk to their hearts’ content. She didn’t care, as long as they were not having some kind of romantic relationship.
As for the policewoman whose appearance would easily lead the men to the road of crime, Scarlett also asked Lina to take her to another room for a cup of coffee.
