Cades POV
It was cold in here. Not just the temperature but the lack of energy and emotion. It had been several hours since they brought her back to this room. Everyone had left about an hour ago, but I refused. My mom was on shift tonight, so at least I had someone here with me.
I had died a little bit inside when they said Taylor might never wake up. As I sat next to her bedside, stroking her hair, I kept thinking that this world wasn't done with her yet. She had so much more to do in life. Her skin was cold and lifeless, and her closed eyes blocked the usual blue that I loved to see.
“Just open your eyes. Open your eyes, baby girl.” but like the past several times I asked, the room was only filled with silence.
