Yelling in the apartment pulls me from my sleep.
“Where the f**k is he?” I hear a booming voice scream.
Katya cries, but she’s not in here. I can’t get to her. I’m frozen. The voices are loud. I sniff- sure that I smell Benjamin and King Seth. I can’t smell Calvin.
“I don’t know what you mean?” I hear, and I’m sure it’s Benjamin. He sounds so much like Calvin.
“Where. Is. He.” Seth growls.
“What’s going on?” I hear Celeste say.
“Calvin is gone,” Benjamin tells her.
I don’t hear anyone say anything else, but Katya quiets. I hear movement through the monitor, and finally, Celeste says something. She has Katya. “I know,” she coos. “All these loud, scary jerks, waking us up too early. Come on, let’s check on your Mommy. I’m sure they’ve scared her, too.”
