“Alpha,” the Beta says, waking me. “Err… Ada. I’m sorry.”
I wipe my eyes. “It’s fine. What’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” he says. “At least, I don’t think anything is wrong. A man just crossed the border who says he’s your brother. The warriors said he looks like you.”
“Anthony?” I ask, sitting up quickly. I glance at the window, where the faintest light shines through. The alarm clock says it’s 5:30.
He nods. “Yes. Are you expecting him?”
“No, but I’m sure it’s fine. I’ll meet him outside.”
He nods and leaves. I quickly get dressed and cross the hall to get Celeste. David opens the door, looking at me in confusion. “Is everything alright?”
