“Why didn’t they name the pack after the caves? Or the stones?” I ask Alpha Jareth as I look around.
He shrugs. “Calcite forms on limestone.”
“Are all caves made from limestone?”
“No,” he tells me. “It’s the most common, but it’s not the only. Caves can form in marble, but they are rare.”
“Have you seen one?” I ask.
He shakes his head. “Only in books.”
I run my hand along the wall on the cool rocks. It’s chilly here. Ada will feel the same temperature no matter where she is, and it’s far too cold. “I read a lot growing up,” I tell him. “I don’t think I ever read much about caves, though.”
“I’ll send a few books with you. With any luck, you’ll find something helpful.”
