*Benjamin* “Do you plan to get out of the car?” Peter asks. I nod, staring at Delilah from behind the safety of the tinted windows. “I will. Go ahead.” I sigh. How did I get here? I’m hiding in a car because I don’t want to deal with my ex-girlfriend and her mate- more than thirty years later. She looks damn good, though. Time has been kind to her. Her hair is shorter now but still the same honey brown. It’s probably dye, but it looks good on her. She’s wearing a long black dress that is sleeveless and low cut. Is she trying to have her mate murder me? She walks to the car and knocks on the window. “Are you trying to hide from me, Ben?” Ben. She’s the only person who ever dared to shorten my name. She’s the only person I ever allowed to. I open the door and smile at her.
