I was prepared for nearly all of the possible reactions Nicholas would and could have to my decision and refusal of dancing with danger and expecting it to not bite me in the ass . I was ready to deal with any reaction he threw me except for the one he actually decided to throw at me . I readied myself every single day of the week for him to stress Ellie out to get to me , blow up my cell phone to convince me , even seek me out himself or , at best , use Elliot as his scapegoat to arrange some meeting just so he would get to me .
But none of those things happened . He didn' t even try to call me once . Ellie hadn' t even recieved a call either and neither had he came here in my persuit .
