“I don’t think you’re in any position to make demands,” Kalan said as he turned to face Cassia. He was still mad about what the vampire did. He could have released his brother from the elders’ hold some other way without putting them all in danger. But he had his own interest in mind. He didn’t think how his actions would affect them all. Kalan’s eyes drifted to Vicker. He looked more lucid, way better than the last time he saw him in the forest. Vicker’s eyes were focused on Mystic. Kalan could feel his anger coming off him in waves. He shifted to stand in front of Mystic blocking his line of vision. “She said no,” Kalan said to Cassia, his voice hard. Cassia shook his shook, and clicked his tongue. “You can’t just say no. She’s his bride. There are things he can’t fight even if he wa
