I hurried back to my room and slipped inside, pulling the blanket over me. My heart was still racing from everything that had happened with Damon. As I settled into bed, I could hear voices drifting through the hallway. Logan had returned.
“How did the meeting with the other Alphas go?” Ray asked.
“Better than expected,” Logan replied. “They agreed to the new terms. But I don’t trust them. Something felt off.”
“They have always been like that,” Ray said. “You will have to watch them closely.”
