Chapter 29
When she woke up, Ariella was lying comfortably on the grass. A red rose in her arms. She knew who it was. The last person she had contact with was Eric. She got up and searched allover for him. She even called out his name loud. He was nowhere. It was dark and scary. From a distance she could see fire and smell smoke. Then she remembered. She had passed out.
"The barrier is down", she said out loud running the woods.
She could smell burning wood and clothes. Even people. Burning far. Their small village made of grass thatched houses with mud walls was a pile of debris. Wounded children and women. Their husband's lying dead in pools of blood. Silver knives and bullets lodged in their skins. Others had no heads. Others their intestines ripped out. Their hearts too and eye sock
