Lana's POV Sitting in class was suffocating. I pushed until we were dismissed. I need to call my dad, he needs to help me, but I still do not want him to know about what really happened that night in the club. As I walked down the steps to leave class, I looked at Arden. He was already looking at me, as he packed up his things. I hurried after Cynthia because I didn't want to be alone. "Are you still feeling okay?" she asked me as I walked in step with her. "I guess so," I shrugged, but the truth is that I am not really okay. "I can come over tonight if you don't feel well," she offered. "I will be okay and I have your number," I said. "Hey, ladies," Brady shoved himself between Cynthia and I, his arms were draped over our shoulders. I took his arm off. I started to walk fast, away from them both. Cynthia can have him for all I care. She thinks that he is a nice person, then she will find out the hard way. "Don't run away from me," Brady is now beside me. "Stay away from me," I hissed at him. He laughed. "Why should I? You don't like me anymore?" he asked. "No, I dont." I said as I continued to walk. "You shouldn't fight anything, Lana." his arm draped around my shoulder again. "Get your hands off of me!" I hissed, as I fought to get it off. "You can try, but I'm not going anywhere," he said with his mouth against my ear and I could feel his breath. Cynthia does nothing. I closed my eyes and all of a sudden, his arm wasn't draped over my shoulder. Opening my eyes, he is no longer next to me. I turned around to see where they were but Arden had him pinned against the wall. Cynthia was standing there in shock. Everyone else is looking at them. I do not hear what Arden is saying to him, but Brady gets the message as he nodded. Arden let go of him and he walked past me. His expression was cold and he didn't look my way, instead I followed after him. He had on a light blue dress shirt, tucked into his black dress pants, his laptop bag slung over one shoulder as he walked. I was in shock because he ignored me. Maybe he has a very good reason as to why. I am going to find out. I admired his ass in those dress pants as he walked out of the building. His car is always parked next to mine. I jogged to get to him in time when we reached our cars. "Thank you for helping me," I said. He looked at me with coldness as he opened his car door. "Come by my place tonight, that is if your father has left," he said, and then he got inside of his car. I didn't want to make anything obvious and then I got inside of my car. Cynthia was walking towards me. She didn't look happy. I quickly took my phone out of my satchel, and placed it on the back seat again and then I dialed my dad's number. I placed the phone against my ear. "Lana, is everything okay?" he asked with concern. "No, are you still in New York?" I asked. "Yes, but I'm at the airport now. I am about to walk to the private jet," he said. "You know Brady, right?" "That guy that was on the football team?" he asked. "Yes, the one that I liked. He started attending my university and in my class this week. I would like for you to do something to make him transfer," I said. "F^ck." he muttered under his breath. "I will talk to the board. Let me take care of it, I will be canceling my plans to fly back home." he said. I closed my eyes with a sigh of relief. "Thanks, dad." I said as I opened my eyes again and Cynthia got inside of my car. "Anything to protect you. Talk later. I love you," he said. "I love you too, dad." I replied and we hung up. "What the hell was that?" Cynthia asked. "My dad was on the call with me." I said. "No, the fact the professor Moses took things into his own hands with Brady. He was angry. What does he have against Brady because, as far as I know, Brady did nothing but only put his hands on you." she hissed at me. "That is correct, Cynthia. He put his hands on me and I didn't like it. Why are you so upset about it? You are free to have him because I don't want him," I said. "Well, he is always trying to get close to you and he hardly looks at me. How do you think I feel? Professor Moses is Arden. I'm not stupid, Lana. I can see there are things between you both. You have both been attracted to each other since that day in the coffee shop. If something is going on between the two of you, then you can tell me. I won't say anything to anyone, " she said. "We like each other, but he only cares about me after he saw that I suffered from panic attacks. He is good at that," I said, but I did not want her to know anything. "If you want Brady, he is all yours because I don't want him," I said with disgust and I start the engine. I will not stop Cynthia from dating whomever she wants to. I am not her mother, but I was only looking out for her because I know what Brady is capable of. The fact remains that I don't want to see Brady anymore. I know that my dad will take care of it. I just want to be with Arden tonight and feel safe. He is my safest place.
