"Wow," I said, completely flabbergasted.
Violet had just finished telling me the entire story. At least, I think she did. It was more detail than I'd ever gotten from her before.
I never pestered Violet about her past the whole time I've known her. I've always been curious, of course, but I trust Abuela with my life. Some people may say I'm too impulsive with my decisions, but I think that I just know how to follow my gut.
And my gut is never wrong.
