Emma and my father stared at me bewildered. Neither of them said a word.
I don’t even know why I blurted it out, but I knew they needed to know. My first thought was to tell my friends, but with the conversation I had been having with these two, I knew it was best to tell them instead.
Emma cleared her throat and stared right at me. “What did you just say?”
“Mia is my mate,” I said, looking between them again, but my throat was starting to get dry. Clearing it slightly, I moved up in my seat and spoke again. “I found out when we were outside to meet you. All I could smell was her scent and knew who she was to me.”
