Watching Emma, Mia and Lee’s mate wolf walk off, made my stomach dip.
Chloe screeched more. “Where the hell are they going? They should be here training with us.”
What the hell?
Why would she want Mia training with us? Then a sinking feeling hit, which made a low growl rumble from the back of my head from Jake. His voice was faint, but it floated toward me. “Because she wanted to do what she used to, to our mate and they are protecting her. More than you ever did.”
Ouch, that part hurt, but I knew he was right.
My eyes darted to Chloe, who was now naked and being handed clothes to put on. She snatched them but glared at Gwen. “Do your job? That wolf nearly killed me. Not only that, but you also said we were all to be trained. Mia never trained and—”
Gwen let out a growl.
