Lyla ran for a long time. This pack has loads of land. I usually get lost as there are so many places to go, but at the moment, I didn't care where we went; all I wanted to do was get away from my racing thoughts.
Lyla and I just needed to get out of the office. Lyla blocked everyone from the office but kept the link to me open. It got too much, hearing everything that Gwen was saying about the pack. I shouldn't care too much about the goings-on, but hearing what she said about Aidan hurt me more for some strange reason.
"I thought Aidan would have been our mate" Lyla blurted out, which caught me off guard. I tried so hard not to think like that about him, especially when he dumped me for Chloe. It was heartbreaking to watch them, let alone have it rubbed it in my face every day
