I sat across from Erik, and it felt like I had a massive knot in my stomach. After my night with Tori, I had finally made a decision to look for my biological parents. However, facing the reality of what that meant was harder than I thought. Erik studied me as he waited for me to speak. After our last conversation, he knew there was more to my past. Things that he didn’t know. Things that I hadn’t shared with anyone.
“Thanks for this,” I said as I kept my voice low. “The thing is…there are a lot of things that you don’t know. Things that I have never told anyone and…things that you need to know before we do this,” Erik nodded as he leaned forward in his seat.
“I’m here to listen, Cole. Whatever you want to tell me…it stays right here, between us,” he said, and I took a deep breath
