“He… seriously made it to the next stage?” Joel’s eyes widened as he watched what was happening above Kane’s back. He could no longer hide the shock he felt inside as well as the tinge of jealousy in his eyes.
The chance to reach the next stage was right in front of him. Kane seized the chance to summon all the energy he had within him in order to reach stage five.
Just then, the fifth glowing circle behind him suddenly disappeared.
The surging blood in his veins calmed down as though someone had poured cold water all over him and the intense energy dissipated too. Kane could not control the disappointment and agitation he felt inside, so he practically flew to Carl’s side and asked in an amazed yet anxious voice, “Why didn’t I make it to the next stage? Why?” He had been so close!
