Even though Carl had not made anything yet, preparing the herbs and drawing the essence from certain plants helped Dorothy draw a few conclusions about what Carl was planning to concoct. She got a little excited and whispered, “Are you going to make a poison blend?”
Carl did not say anything in response. Dorothy was equally well-versed in these things, so there was no way he could hide it from her.
“Aren’t you being a little too bold?” whispered Dorothy. “If you end up poisoning him to death, how are we going to get away?”
Carl nearly rolled his eyes and snapped, “Who said anything about poisoning him?”
