Adrian’s P.O.V.
Today of all days, I decided to come early to school. We usually have four classes throughout the day called an A day and tomorrow we will have the remaining four which is called B. Our classes alternate depending on which class day you ended on last week. Last week we had an A week which meant Monday, Wednesday and Friday were all of my A day classes. That means that this week is a B week... I hate B weeks. There’s a werewolf class that is mandatory to take, and it’s on b days. The humans just think it’s a mandatory community course that all of us ‘rebel’ kids need to take. We learn about our werewolf history and finish off the class outdoors...
Put me out of my misery...
Please..
Since I’ve woken up, I’ve had this weird feeling like something big is going to happen today. My wolf has been pacing back and forth in my mind. I’m not sure what has him on edge, but I know it has to do with the feeling I got when I woke up.
When I got to school, the atmosphere felt the same. Nothing was out of place. Everything was a routine. The teachers would park in the same parking spot everyday. It was the same old kids waiting outside the school. This is why I liked Shadow Heights. There wasn’t anything weird or surprises going on, and my pack could come here and be safe.
When I entered the school, I noticed my pack was on edge, and it didn’t take long for my beta to fill me in.
“Alpha... Silvercrest pack just enrolled into school here...”
Just the mention of their name sent me off the edge. I couldn’t control my fist from trembling. I wanted to shift and rip all their throats out, but I couldn’t. It would start a war and with a strong pack... On top of all the things I have on my plate, a war with the Silvercrest pack isn’t on it.
A hand grabbed my arms roughly. Before I could snap at whoever dared lay a hand on their alpha, my eyes met my beta, Dylan. He was trying to calm me down from wolfing out. I hadn’t realized that my body was beginning to morph into my wolf. My human nails were replaced by long claws. My straight teeth were now replaced by my canines. I needed to control my emotions...
I closed my eyes and tried to control my breathing. I always had trouble with my anger, so my mom had taught me to count backwards and to take deep breaths slowly to control it.

I opened my eyes and looked down to my hands. My claws were no longer present. I glanced towards my reflection in the nearby window and my human teeth were there. I couldn’t stay there any longer. If I wanted to maintain my peace, I needed to be far away from members of my pack. The only thing that would be leaving their mouths would be regarding the Silvercrest, and I didn’t have it in me to listen to their name being mentioned again and remain unbothered. I darted for my first class. There was 15 minutes before the first bell would ring to warn students to head to class. The classrooms are never locked during school days, so I didn’t have to worry about waiting outside. I sat in my usual desk and started self reflecting when the most hypnotizing smell filled up the classroom. I looked up almost immediately. The most beautiful woman that I have ever laid my eyes on. Her hair looked like the sun, and her eyes reminded me of the sea. She is beautiful...
‘Mate!’ My wolf Killian yelled in my head.
“Mate...” I repeated in shock. Just as I stood up to approach her...
****RINGGGG*******
The teacher walked in and ordered me to sit down. I usually never listen to orders by another wolf, but I didn’t want my mate to get the wrong impression of me. I didn’t want to scare her away. I actually wanted her to get to know me which sounds lame, but she is my soulmate.
I wouldn’t do anything that would jeopardize it. I sat down, but my eyes never left hers. I could tell that the room was being filled by wolves of the Silvercrest pack, but I didn’t care. I could sense their uneasiness, but I had no clue as to why. When another male werewolf walked into the room, my mates eyes lit up for half a second and became tense. Who was this guy? As he made way to my mate, I couldn’t control the growls that were escaping my mouth. I didn’t want to lose my cool, but f**k. Another male near my mate was just pushing it.
I heard him command a wolf out of a seat near my mate, and my anger would not let up. I gripped the chair to stop me from ripping this guys throat out. Throughout the entire class, my eyes never left my mate. No matter how many ugly looks I received. I couldn’t care less. As soon as the class ended, I tried to push people out of my way to get to my mate, but she was too quick. She was out of my sight before I could leave the classroom. This is not how I expected meeting my mate would go...
As I tried roaming the halls to find her, I was approached by Dylan and my third in command, Joseph.
“Why do you seem so tense?” I heard Dylan say, but my mind was somewhere else or on someone else.
“Yeah, you have that constipated look on your face... I mean you always look like that, but right now it just looks extra... constipated?” Joseph muttered under his breath. His words would usually trigger a response out of me, but they weren’t the ones I was focused on.
Suddenly from the mind link, I could hear members from my pack chattering about finding a member of the Silvercrest pack all alone. I couldn’t even comprehend what they were saying because of my mate. All three of us had ended up in an empty classroom.
“Aren’t you going to stop them?” Said Jospeh in an annoyed tone.
“Huh?” All their words were processing in a blur, but then I heard it. The most piercing scream that shook me to my bones and that’s because I’m an alpha. Joseph and Dylan cowered in fear. The second the scream stopped. I knew exactly who it was and I was going to kill anyone who stood in my way from getting to her... It was my mate. She was in pain.
Joseph and Dylan held me back. My claws were coming out of my fingers and my canines were piercing my lip. I wasn’t going to let anyone stop me even my own pack.
“Alpha! It’s us! What are you doing?!” Dylan said with a hint of worry and fear in his voice.
“You are stopping me from going to my mate! She is hurt! I will kill you for this!” I roared at the top of my lungs, but the classroom was soundproof so nobody else heard it. Dylan and Joseph looked at each other like they had seen a ghost. They both were mind linking each other, but I didn’t care at the moment. They both stood in front of me.
“What the f**k do you think you’re doing?! Get the f**k out of my way!!!” I said as I continued to roar and growl.
“Alpha think of your mate! We cannot let you go in claws blazing and kill other wolves here on school grounds”, Joseph tried yelling. Then Dylan and Joseph tried to restrain me, but I needed to be with my mate... They clawed at my shirt and tore it into pieces, but I was always faster.
I lost count on how many punches I inflicted on the both of them. As long as I didn’t kill them, I wasn’t concerned with how hurt they were. They could always heal. When I finally broke free from their grasp, I tried sniffing out my mate’s scent.
It led me to the nurses office. I opened the door, and that’s when I saw her. She was hurt badly. She had gashes all up and down her body. There was blood on every part of her skin that it made my blood boil. There were major gashes that seemed to hurt me just by looking at them.
"Did my pack do this to you?” I said making sure the anger wasn’t visible in my voice.
She looked away, and my heart began to hurt from the loss of her gaze. I needed to be near her. As I took a step closer, her eyes looked up.
“Yes. Th- they wanted to show me just how welcomed I am here.”
How could my pack do this to my mate? Granted, they didn’t know she was my mate, but f**k I’m going to find out who did this and tear them apart. I took one last look at her before I walked out.
Everyone who put their hands on her will pay...
They will all pay...
