Chapter 6

983 Words
Skyler’s POV  He just walked out... He showed no emotion. If I would’ve seen him hurt like I am, I would’ve felt like my heart was breaking. Instead, he just looked at me and left...  I’m not really sure what I was expecting. His own pack did this to me. I can’t expect for him to be this Prince Charming. I don’t even understand my own feelings.  Fuck the mate bond Of course, I want him to be this romantic man towards me, and we have this romantic moment like in movies where he confesses his love for me. I want him to tell me how he’s been waiting for me just as I’ve been waiting for him. I been in love with my mate before I even saw his face. I might look tough and independent, but I still crave the big romantic gesture. Except this is reality.  He is the big bad alpha that is feared by everyone. Every werewolf knew about his reputation. Some wolves said that he slaughtered an entire pack just because he wanted their allegiance. When they refused, they weren’t taken down quietly. They were brutally murdered and hung up so other packs would spread word to join or die. Some say that Adrian has the same power of ten wolves combined. In his wolf form, it is said that he’s  five time bigger than the average alpha. That’s why he’s such a powerful alpha and why he runs the biggest and baddest pack.  There were stories that his parents were victims of a rogue attack, and it triggered his wolf at the age of 10. That’s three years earlier than the normal wolf.  First born males are usually trained for the alpha position before they could even start school. When Adrian’s parents died, he took over the Alpha position immediately.  When news first broke that his parents were dead, word had spread that Adrian had gone into rampage. He killed off any rogue wolf that came into sight. He eliminated so many that the rogue wolves almost became nonexistent, so the rest of them went into hiding. That is why it was said that his parents must have died in a rogue attack because of how he targeted only rogues. To this day, nobody knows the truth about what happened.  It took a couple of years till rogue wolves were able to roam freely. Those who wanted to live their life as normally as possible would have to pledge their loyalty to the WarBlack pack.  I was so deep in thought that I didn’t notice my brothers had swung the nurses office open. By the looks on their faces, they were still angry that I was hurt.  “Why aren’t you healing?!” Scott roared.  “It’s taking me longer than usual...” I responded.  “We need to get you to the pack doctor. She will know what to do.” Steven said shortly before picking me up bridal style. I had dozed off a couple of time on the way to the parking lot where some members of my pack were huddled around each other. Steven and Scott has mind linked the rest of the pack that was at school to let them know what had happened.  “Lets take my car!” Carly yelled.  We all tried to squeeze into her 4 door Chrysler. It was 45 minutes to get to the pack house, and it was the longest moment of my life. The boys were frantically looking at each other. I knew they were worried because I kept dozing off. I couldn’t help it. I was just so sleepy. Before I knew it, my eyes were shut closed, but I could tell we made it to the pack house. I could hear my father roaring in the background. I couldn’t hear what he was saying, but I know that seeing me injured sent him off the deep end.  That was all I remember because not long after I was swallowed by the darkness...  I finally began to see a light at the end of the tunnel. While I was falling deeper and deeper into the darkness, time decided to stand still. I thought the car ride to the pack house was the longest moment of my life, but I was wrong.  When the darkness ended, I was surrounded by miles and miles of grass. It looked like I was in a meadow. Right in front of me there was a tree that I recognized almost immediately. It was the tree that stood by the pack house, but the pack house wasn’t here in this place. All I could say to myself was... ‘Where am I?’ A very tall women stepped forward from behind the tree. I instantly took a step back. I’m a dream like state or not, I wasn’t taking any chances.  It was as if the lady could hear my thoughts because she instantly raised her hands in front of her and said, “I’m not going to hurt you”. I took another step back. “How can I trust you?”  “I was the last female wolf born from the Silvercrest bloodline... You can feel it in your bones that I’m telling the truth. You can feel our bond can’t you? I’m your ancestor. I’m here to tell you that’s it’s time...” she said in response to my question.  “Time for what?” I fired back.  “Its time to begin your transition...”
