Ava's POV
When I woke up, Kane wasn't in the tent.
A few seconds later he ducked through the flap, his huge frame taking up most of the space. His eyes found me right away, going soft immediately.
"You're getting better," he said quietly, like he was trying to convince himself. He stood at the foot of the bed, arms crossed. "The wounds are closing up and most of the wolfsbane's out of your system. The healer thinks you'll be strong enough to travel tomorrow."
I sat up, gripping the thin blanket. "Travel?"
