Lucas’s POV The smell of wolfsbane clung to me like smoke. Every breath was fire in my lungs, every step i took was agony. My claws had already receded, my body was too weak to hold the shift. The wounds across my shoulder burned, veins pulsing dark beneath the skin, the poison spreading slow but steady. Jarek wasn’t much better. He leaned hard on Ryn, his face was pale, lips pressed into a thin line. Sweat dripped down his temples as he tried to keep his balance, his side still bleeding where the blade had cut him. We hadn’t stopped moving since the ambush.
