Chapter 11 “I can go no farther.” They hid in the saplings and underbrush that bordered the meadowlands. In the distance, the pale stone of the castle was glowing pink with the rising sun. “Do you sense it?” the prince asked. “I am more bear than man.” Yes, the outline of Miven did more than shimmer about him. It looked solid. If she reached out a hand, she might touch the soft fur. The warm scent of blackberries filled the pocket of space between them. “If I leave these woods, I will become a bear forever.” Leaving these woods would break her heart forever. She sighed with so much force, the leaves in front of her face rattled. Prince Bennett laughed, not the full-throated laugh of earlier, but a more muted chuckle. “Is the prospect of a warm bath and a proper bed so distressing?”
