The look Damon’s giving me right now says it all. He’s definitely been standing here longer than he should’ve.
Honestly, I have no idea what his deal is.
“Oh, yeah.” He finally blinks after staring at me and Anika for what had to be a full thirty seconds. “I just got here. Seriously, though. I was about to knock when she flung the door open.”
I narrow my eyes. “Damon?”
He throws his hands up like I’m accusing him of murder. “Come on, Matteo! You don’t believe me? I wasn’t even planning to come inside. Just brought over a report..figured I’d drop it and leave.”
Maybe he’s telling the truth. I can even see a file clutched tightly in his hands.
I part my lips to respond to him, but before I can get a word out, Anika steps in.
