Snoopy I was up early. Even before Cookie stopped by the house with a trunk full of groceries, his old lady insisted he bring some stuff over, so I had some food in my kitchen. It wasn't much but a good amount of stuff. While he was at the house, Cookie also returned my cell phone and left me with the news that the club was throwing a party tonight at the bar. As much as I didn't want a party, I know it wasn't all for me. It was the guys celebrating the release of the person that served their time for killing the person that killed one of our own. So I would go and have a few drinks with everyone. Well, everyone that showed up. Honestly, it was nice to know a good number of the guys still had my back. It was good to know that I still had a family here among the guys. And for the most part, they didn't care what I did in the past or what I might do in the future. I was one of them, and they wanted to ensure I remembered that. Even after so many years of being a member of the MC, you would think I was used to the way of things. But I wasn't. Maybe one day I will be, but not today. Today I was still taken back slightly. Walking back inside after Cookie left, I was happy to see Anne was up. I hoped to flirt a bit more this morning, but she seemed to be in a hurry. So I was left with the hope that I could get Iron and Lexie out this way tonight, and they could get Anne to join everyone. Give me another chance to flirt with her today. My guess it would be my last chance for a bit anyway. By the way, she nearly ran out of the house this morning. She wasn't planning on staying at the house much longer. So step one, get Iron and Lexie out this way. That included a phone call, and now that I had my phone, that was easy enough to do by calling Iron's phone. "Hello?" Iron sounded confused. Probably by the fact my number came up on the phone, and he wasn't aware I was released yesterday. "First, don't be pissed. I didn't call you to come to get me. Second, don't be pissed at Cookie for not saying anything, either. I swore him to secrecy. Third, I am told there will be a get-together later this evening if you all can come out this way." Silence from the other end for only a moment before Iron responded. "Mother fucker, I will be pissed if I want. You should have said something to me and not Cookie. I would have picked you up, Asshole. But you can make that up by buying me a drink later." "Deal. While on the subject of buying people drinks, what's the deal with Anne? Is she seeing anyone? You think you all can convince her not to run and stay for another night and join us?" Scoffing, I could picture Iron shaking his head. "I will see what I can do. But if you have already made a bad impression on her, you might as well not even try, man. She can be a tough cookie to crack." It was my turn to scoff. "We will see about that. See you all later." With that, I hung up. We could get all caught up later. I had other s**t to get done before this evening. I could only hope Lexie was able to get her friend to join the rest of us at the bar. If not, I guess I would have to come up with a plan b. First, though I had to meet with my parole officer, thankfully, I would only have to deal with the guy for a couple of months. Way less time than others I know of, yet more than some have to deal with it. But still a matter of my release. And since I planned on staying on this side of the fence, I would do whatever I had to. After meeting with him, I planned to stop at the clubhouse and talk with Digs, this chapter of the MC's president, and get back to work and making money as soon as possible. I know as far as my parole officer was concerned, I would be working out of an animal rescue some of the old ladies ran. But that wouldn't really be my means of income. First thing first, though. I had a nice ride with the first woman in my life. Heading out of the house, I carefully removed the cover off my bike, running my fingers along the back of her. I am glad I got the chance to clean her up yesterday before taking her back out in view of everyone. Climbing on, I brought her to life and headed out. There was nothing like being on your bike. I headed out, heading away from town, heading out and around. The road took me out nearly an hour before I rounded back towards town, entering on the opposite side than I would have if I had driven straight into town from my house. It was nearly noon when I pulled into the parking lot outside the MC clubhouse. And unsurprisingly, there were several guys there. Most of them greeted me instantly. There were a few that didn't, but that was already to be expected, and I didn't let those members leaving and not saying anything to me bother me. They were allowed to feel however they wished to feel. At the same time, I was allowed to still feel as though I did nothing wrong in my decision to kill another member's daughter. Besides, it didn't take long after I showed up at the MC clubhouse for the news to get out, and other members started showing up to get a chance to talk to me and welcome me back onto this side of the fence.
