Snoopy
As the day went on and word got out about me being on this side of the fence, the more brothers joined in welcoming me back. It didn't take long, and we were moving from the clubhouse to the bar to celebrate. Soon, just about every member was at the bar except a couple of members, but I didn't miss those members and didn't care they weren't there. Not when there was still one member. I would always miss him and wish things could have been different and he was still here. But I can't change things, and life goes on.
Before long, Iron joined the brothers that were there. With him came the promise that Anne would be joining us at some point this evening with the help of Lexie. Knowing this brightened my day even more. I would get yet another chance to flirt with her. Me admitting this to Iron had him laughing at me and shaking his head while saying, and I quote, "she is going to eat you alive." This didn't discourage me like it might some others. It just meant I was going to have to work a little harder to get her attention. And then she walked in, and I was sure I had this in the bag.
She was damn sexy and knew it. Flirting with her was going to be easy. At least, I thought it would be easy. But I quickly learned she wasn't going to make it as easy as I thought. In all my years of flirting with women, I have never had one turn my words back on me. Iron leaning in and whispering something to Lexie, and Lexie laughing, only adding to the mocking smile Anne gave me as she asked her question.
"You seem to be the expert on the guys here tonight. According to you, who here is a better guy, a girl should flirt with?"
Faltering for only a moment, I did my best not to show that she was throwing me off my game. Not that I thought I did a good job of that either, as her smile only grew ever so slightly as I paused in my response.
"Well, I suppose that depends on what you like in a guy. I mean, you have Ghost over there, Bolt, Buster, Rav, Thunder, and Claw, who aren't bad guys. And then, of course, Gray, there is an old softy if you are into the older guy thing."
Her eyes followed my finger as I pointed out the guys. They are all a risk to point out, as they are good at sweet talking women. A chance I was happy to take as I watched her nod her head, humming.
"I see. So all of them are great to flirt with, but none of them are worth more than that? So where does that put you on the list, then?"
Shrugging my shoulders, I did my best to continue to ignore my best friend as he continued to whisper to his old lady.
"Oh, Sweetheart, I am always up for flirting. But I am more into making fantasies come true."
Moving, Anne stepped closer to me so she was only a couple of inches away. She was so close it was easy to notice that with her heels on, she was now at eye level with me. Not like last night when I had to look down at her slightly. Reaching out with one hand, she rested it on my side as she leaned in closer to me, so she didn't have to talk louder than needed for only me to hear her.
"You really want to know what I fantasize about?"
Swallowing hard, I nodded my head while doing my best to keep my eyes looking up at her and not down at the magnificent view her top offered of her chest. A smile pulled at her lips now, not the mocking smile she had before but a more genuine smile as she leaned in more ever so slightly.
"I would love to find a guy that doesn't think calling me Sweetheart, buying me a drink, and flirting with me will end with the two of us naked."
Closing the small amount of distance left, she pressed her lips on my cheek before pulling away. Her hand left my side as she stepped back to where she had been standing before. Her smile grew on her face as she winked at me.
"Speaking of drinks, thank you for this one. I think I will have to order another one."
Picking up her glass, she finished what was left in the glass before turning to Lexie. The two of them had a silent conversation between the two of them for a couple of seconds before leaving Iron and me at the table. Iron and I watched the two go. My attention was still on watching Anne walk across the bar when Iron moved over next to me. His hand landed on my shoulder hard as he shook his head and laughed at me.
"Oh man, that was like watching a train wreck. I wanted to look away, but I couldn't. I told you she was going to eat you alive."
Ignoring him, I continued to watch her move through the crowd. Her peeking back before disappearing into the lady's room did not go unnoticed. Only then did I finally look over at Iron, who was still laughing at me.
"For what it's worth, Lexie says Anne only has serious relationships. You really like her. You are going to have to be ready for more than a one night stand or even a fling."
