The dock is so busy from the raid leaving today. I probably shouldn’t have left the same day, but it doesn’t really matter.
“It’s not too late to change your mind,” Harald says, clapping my shoulder. “I’d love to have you join the raid.”
“How did you end up leading it?” I ask. This wasn’t his idea, but now that they’re leaving, he’s been running things.
“I have some things to take care of, so they stepped aside to let me lead,” he shrugs. “It is Magnus’ first raid.”
He’s beaming with pride at the boy. He’s a bit younger than I was on my first raid, so I’m surprised he’s taking him. Whatever his business, it must be important to him.
