The zoo was packed—Saturday families, strollers everywhere, the air thick with popcorn and animal smells. I’d suggested it on a whim last night, half expecting Amelia to say no. But she’d looked at the triplets’ hopeful faces and nodded. “One normal day,” she’d said. “Let’s try.”
