Chapter 3

Rosalie's POV: Dr. Gabriel looked at me in confusion as Vanessa kept her head lowered even as she was happy about the news. Liam looked happy that he would soon be a father, but my mood was ruined. "Tell me it's not true, doctor?" I screamed out like a hysterical woman, and Doctor Gabriel's eyes widened in surprise. But before he could say a word to keep me down, Liam dismissed him, "It's okay, Doctor. You can leave us now. My wife would be needing some rest." "Liam, I am not your wife anymore. Let us get a divorce," I shouted, and Dr. Gabriel bowed and said, "It's alright, Alpha. I will be taking my leave now." Dr. Gabriel left us while Liam ordered Vanessa to clean the room, and he stood there silently, watching me seated on the bed. I wondered what was going on in his mind. I sat silently on this irritated bed, watching Vanessa clean up the room. After she was done, Liam dismissed her, and he moved over to the bed to meet me. I looked away from him, not wanting to meet his gaze, and he apologized to me, saying, "Rose, I know you find this hard to believe, but honestly, I love you. I have never treated you unfairly, please hear me out." "No, Liam!" I started crying again. "I cannot be with you. I want us to go our separate ways. I am not pregnant, and Dr. Gabriel was lying to you," I told him as I looked into his mesmerizing eyes. "Doctor Gabriel didn't lie to us, and you look sick. You should get enough rest. Later, we can discuss this amicably. There are some shewolves in our pack that had two mates, and they live peacefully," Liam tried to preach me about getting into a polyandry relationship. "Not me, Liam. I cannot be with a man who sleeps with his fellow man. I cannot even be with you if you cheat on me with a woman, and now you want me to accept your man friend. Never! I want a divorce, and for us to end this marriage. It wasn't meant to be in the first place. You will call your parents, the former Alpha and Luna, and let them know, or I will do so by myself," I threatened him, and his eyes darkened. His eyes are a shade of silver hue, making his eyes white. "You wouldn't dare to inform anyone about it, Rose, and what if you do? Do you think anyone will believe you? They will think you're lying, and that's what I will tell them that you have gone mental!" Liam threatened, and my eyes welled up in tears. "I, Rosalie Maddox, the first daughter and heiress to the Maddox family, reject you, Alpha Liam Hudson, as my mate," I said, feeling the sharp pain in my heart even though Liam wasn't my mate. We dated before we got married, and I loved him too. "I, Alpha Liam Hudson, reject your rejection, and I will continue to reject it. You should calm down, Rose. You have my pups growing in you, and I cannot let you go at this point. I promise to make up for all those past hurts and mark you now, okay," Liam walked nearer to the bed and met me. His right hand touched my cheek, but I smacked his hand away from touching my face and growled at him. "Never! I will never be your Luna anymore!" My blue eyes shone at him in disgust, but Liam laughed and walked away towards the door. As he pulled it open to leave the room, he paused at the door and said, "I will send Vanessa now to tidy up the other room for you." Liam shut the door and left me while I cried my eyes out. I was supposed to be happy that I would become a mother soon, but I was sad. Extremely heartbroken by Liam's betrayal. Liam wanted me to accept him and his mate. No way. I must go in search of my own mate. I thought about escaping from this mansion, and knowing that I was pregnant, Liam would keep watch for me. He was the only son and controlled the whole pack. Our pack members feared him and respected him. As I laid on the bed, lost in my thoughts, the door pushed open, and Vanessa came in, her head bent lower. "I'm sorry, Luna," she cried as I looked at her face, and I knew that I couldn't trust her. "You don't have to apologize to me. Have you prepared the room that Liam sent you to arrange?" I asked her, and she nodded her head, before replying, "Yes, Luna. I have done that. Master Liam ordered me to arrange the next room." I frowned, knowing that was closer to this room. Liam had a six-bedroom duplex and several guest rooms on the ground floor. I crept out of the bed, feeling faint as I rose to my feet, and Vanessa rushed up to meet me. She assisted me while I accepted her support and walked out of the room. As we entered the room, Vanessa assisted me to lay on the bed, and I told her, "Help me to get my handbag from the living room. I want to use it." "Okay, Luna. Is there anything else that you want me to do? Should I bring your meal?" She asked, and I looked at her face. "No. Just bring my bag for me, I'm not hungry," I dismissed her, and Vanessa left the room. A few minutes later, she returned to the room and gave me my bag as she stood beside me, watching me like a creep. "What do you want?" I asked her, and she blushed. "Nothing, Luna. I just wanted to wait to know if you're in need of anything else?" She asked, her green eyes meeting my blue ones. "No. Leave and shut the door behind you," I ordered her, and she left the room. Vanessa was only three years younger than me, but I didn't like her. I felt she was up to something mischievous, and she usually admired Liam. Was Liam and Alex fụcking Vanessa too? Why didn't she feel bad after knowing that they were cheating on me? I cannot trust that Vanessa, and I need to start doing things on my own. I reasoned. Unlocking my handbag, I grabbed my phone and immediately phoned my father. Our pack was developed and in a bustling city, even though we were a pack full of werewolves. We had few humans living around us, so we hardly shifted, except at nightfall and during the full moon. The phone rang, and I waited to hear my father's response.
