Once again, I found myself standing across from this man, my anger and irritation towards him only getting stronger with every minute that passed. There was absolutely nothing that he could have done or said in that moment that would have changed my opinion about him, and I believe that he must have known that, for he didn’t say a single thing. We just continued to stand across from one another, staring as if there was nothing else in the room that was worth our attention. Personally, I wasn’t looking away, out of the sheer fear that he would pull out a knife and hack me to pieces. I didn’t understand how he had managed to get up here, especially not after I had been sitting on the staircase for the entirety of the evening since I had separated paths with him. It simply didn’t make sense
