Carolyn’s Point of View The mere sound of my father’s voice sent a chill down my spine. I was terrified on the spot, it taking all the courage I could muster just to turn around and face him. In the dimly lit room, my eyes widened to take him in. It had been a few days at least since the last time I had come face to face with my father, and even then we spent most of the time avoiding each other. It was only on the nights that he had been drinking heavily that he seemed to seek me out. So today must be one of those nights. Only now, he looked worse than I last remembered. There was a lightened bruise under one of his eyes and the left of his jaw looked to be a little swollen. Without a doubt he had caught himself in a fight recently, maybe that was why he was already home so early on one
