Carolyn’s Point of View I pressed my back against the door, tilting my head up towards the ceiling as I forced the tears out of my eyes. Thankfully, the house was quiet now, but moments ago it had been loud enough to wake the neighbors. My father had probably gone off to claim his usual stool at the bar, but I had no complaints about that. I only wished that he had gone there sooner and saved the both of us some turmoil tonight. My cheek still burned from his palm, but my wrist was what I was more worried about. I looked down to examine it now, the faint outline of bruises already beginning to appear. Now I’d have one arm broken and one arm bruised, I was really going to struggle to get things done at work now. I let my arm fall back to my side in defeat, letting out a heavy frustrated
