“YOUR ALPHA KING was injured by one of the Blackguards and a Hunter in the battle. He didn’t tell you?” Theo asked the Beta of the Silver Shadow Pack. He took the Alpha King back to the Nightingale palace. Right now, the Alpha King was lying unconscious in his bed.
Soren shakes his head. “No, Vampire King. Alpha King didn’t tell me anything, and he seems to be fine after the war.”
“It’s because he was good at hiding his pain,” said Theo as he sighed. “I just felt his pulse. His pulse was unstable and weak. His power was also weak. I don’t know what he did before he went to the Human Race to look for his mate, but using his power in the Human Race depleted his energy.”
Theo looked at his palm. If not for the power he had transferred to the Alpha King, he might have been dead now.
“Then what should we do, Your Majesty?”
Theo sighed. “What can we do? Of course, I have to heal him. My blood can make him stay alive and recover, but…”
“But what, Your Majesty?” Soren asked in a worried voice.
“It will take many years before he recovers. Though my blood can keep him alive, it will make him fall into a deep slumber. After all, we are not the same race.”
Soren suddenly kneeled before the Vampire King. “Your Majesty, I’m begging you, please, save the Alpha King.”
“What do you think is why I am here?” Theo said as he pulled Soren to stand.
Theo cut his palm using his sharp nails and dripped his blood on Ezequiel's lips.
“Just tell everyone that the Alpha King went to seclusion. Never mentioned what had happened to him. And also, seal this chamber, and no one was allowed to go in,” Theo ordered.
Soren bowed. “Yes, Vampire King. Thank you.”
Theo only smiled and healed his wound. “Ezequiel was my friend. It was natural for me to help him. Moreover, he helped me many times. It was just right for me to return the favor.”
Soren looked at Titus. “Bring me the three decrees.”
Titus, the Gamma of the Silver Shadow Pack, bowed his head and left the Alpha King’s chamber. He took the three decrees from the Alpha King’s study room and returned to the chamber.
“Beta.”
Soren took the three scrolls from Titus. Then he gave one scroll to Titus. “Give this to Aslan. Tell him to bring this decree to the Moon Shine Pack.”
“Alpha Dominick?” Titus asked.
Titus bowed. “Yes, Beta,” he said, and then he left.
The decree was meant for Alpha Dominick for the Moon Shine Pack of the Eastern Region, decreeing Alpha Dominick to rule the Eastern Region until Ezequiel returned from seclusion.
Soren faced the Vampire King.
“Don’t tell me Ezequiel left me a decree,” said Theo.
Soren smiled innocently. “Yes, Vampire King.” He extended his hand, holding the scroll to King Theo. “Alpha King had told me that if something happens to him, I will give you this scroll.”
King Theo took the scroll and opened it. It was a decree, stamped by the Alpha King. The Alpha King wants him to rule the Celestial Continent. He was in disbelief after reading the decree. “I’m not a God. The Celestial Lord was nowhere to be found. The Demon King was on the Celestial Sea. The Alpha King fell into a deep slumber. So, the responsibility fell on me. How unlucky am I? It was already troublesome to rule the Northern Region, and now, it was the whole Celestial Continent. I am so unlucky.”
Soren bowed his head to hide his smile. The Vampire King looked miserable, and he obviously didn’t want to take the decree, but since it was a decree, he didn’t have a choice but to accept it.
“And how about the other scroll left?” Theo asked.
Soren opened the scroll. It was a decree that was meant for him. “It was for me, Vampire King. Alpha King wants me to take over and act as the Alpha of the Silver Shadow Pack while,” he looked at the Alpha King, “His Majesty was in seclusion.”
Theo nodded and sighed. “I was more miserable than you. The whole Celestial Continent is my responsibility now.”
“Your Majesty, you don’t seem to be happy.”
Theo forced a smile. “I’m happy,” then he lost his forced smile and became serious. “Take care of your Alpha King.”
Soren bowed his head.
“And when he wakes up, tell him he owes big time.”
Soren only bowed his head again.
The Vampire King left.
Soren looked at the Alpha King. “Alpha King, you fell into a deep slumber. How would I face the Elders? They wouldn’t believe it if I told them right now that you were in seclusion. What should I do?”
Though they won the war, they are suffering a lot of consequences now. It wasn’t easy for everyone because of what happened in the previous war. Many lives were lost again.
MEANWHILE, Ezequiel’s primordial spirit left his body. He saw Soren entering his chamber and putting a pot of plants in the corner.
“Soren, what are you doing?” Ezequiel asked, but Soren didn’t answer him, as if his Beta hadn’t seen him.
“Soren?”
Ezequiel walked towards Soren and touched him, but his hand didn’t touch Soren. His hand just penetrated Soren. He was surprised and looked at his hand. He realized that it was his primordial spirit. He looked at the bed and saw himself lying.
“I left my own body,” he concluded. “What happened to me?”
The only thing he remembered was that he was in the Human Race and passed out while talking with the Vampire King. Did he take me back? His question had the obvious answer.
Ezequiel sat on the edge of the bed and looked at his body lying on the bed. He propped his head using his hand and thought about what he needed to do.
Later, Soren left the room, and when he came back, he was with the Vampire King.
“Your Majesty, what did you say you had forgotten to tell me?” Soren asked. “And you specifically asked me to take you to the Alpha King’s chamber.”
Ezequiel was puzzled. “What is he doing here?” he asked as he stood and went to sit on the chair in the corner of the room. There was a center table there where a teapot was placed. Every day, Soren boiled tea for him because he always drank tea.
Theo held Ezequiel’s wrist. Then he looked at Soren. “I forgot to tell you. Ezequiel’s primordial spirit was no longer in his body.”
“Ah?”
“Don’t worry. As long as no one touches his body, his primordial spirit will be safe. You have to wait for years until he wakes up.”
Soren nodded and bowed his head. “Thank you, Vampire King.”
“No need to thank me. I’m leaving. Take care of Ezequiel.” Then Theo left, but he glanced at the center table. He knew that someone was sitting there. The corner of his lips rose. Good luck, Alpha King.
Ezequiel’s primordial spirit left the Celestial Continent and went to the Human Race again. He looked for Jazmin again. He looked for her non-stop and when he went to another city, he was surprised to see Jazmin.
“Jazmin!”
Jazmin ignored him.
Ezequiel sighed. He forgot that he was just a primordial spirit. When Jazmin walked through him and penetrated his body. He was invisible, his mate could not see him.
He followed Jazmin until they reached a small apartment. And he was shocked to see a baby in the living room. Jazmin held it in her arms.
“We have a child…”
Ezequiel fisted. “No, I have to go back to my own body. I have to take care of my mate and my child.”
But even after many attempts, Ezequiel didn’t go back to his body. His primordial spirit remained separated from his body. He could only watch his mate silently. He wanted to help Jazmin take care of their child, but he couldn’t because he was invisible.
Years passed, and Ezequiel remained in the Human Race, watching his family silently.
He witnessed how his son grew up and how smart he was.
Ezequiel was smiling all the time. He smiles, seeing his mate and his son.
Jazmin was a tough woman. Ezequiel witnessed it. Raising a child alone wasn’t easy for a single mother, but Jazmin raised their son into a good kid.
Ezequiel looked at the door of the apartment when it opened. He was there, waiting for them to come home.
“Mommy, I’m happy! I passed my exam!” Acezequiel said, happily. “Where’s my reward, Mommy?”
“I will make pancakes for you.”
“Yey! Thank you, Mommy!” Acezequiel kissed his mother’s cheek.
Jazmin smiled and went to the kitchen.
Ezequiel could only smile while watching his son. Later, Acezequiel went to the kitchen, and Ezequiel followed the kid.
“Mommy, I have a question for you.”
Jazmin nodded while preparing the ingredients for what she would make.
“Mommy, where’s my Daddy?”
Jazmin was not the only one who was stunned by Acezequiel’s question; Ezequiel was too.
Jazmin sighed. “I don’t know, Baby. I never saw him again. He probably doesn’t even know you exist.”
Ezequiel clenched his fist.
At night, Ezequiel watched Jazmin and his son sleeping.
Suddenly, he felt a force pulling him. Ezequiel closed his eyes and couldn’t fight the force pulling him away.
At that moment, Ezequiel went back to his own body.
When Ezequiel finally opened his eyes, his silver eyes glowed.
