“You…” Rhys began to say. The next word on the tip of his tongue had been “bast*rd” again, but then he recovered more of his senses, and his fiery eyes grew dangerously cold. “What the hell did you do to Ren?” The innocent smile on Kade’s lips became wider and looked more goading. “Nothing that he didn’t ask me to,” he replied cryptically. To their captive audience, it really seemed like Kade was itching for another fight. And now that things were more or less fine, all they wanted to do was to get out of here, stat. Unexpectedly, Rhys’ quicksilver brain managed to work out what Kade could have meant. “I see…” he said quietly, withdrawing his subdued-looking eyes from the other man to look at the water. “He wanted you to mark him.” “…” ‘Goddamnit,’ Kade thought with some bitterness.
