Wynter’s POV I pull up outside of my apartment, parking my beloved VW bug in the space just down from the entrance to the building. Bertie the bug coughs loudly before her engine dies, and I pat her dashboard lovingly. ‘Yeah. I know Bert’ I tell him, ‘it was a long drive, you did good though boy, got us here in one piece.’ My car is a twenty year old hunk of junk, I know he is and I don’t even try to pretend he’s not. His gear shift is held together by duct tape, the seats are frayed, sponge sticking out in a few places, and the passenger side window doesn’t go down but he’s mine and I love him.
