Chapter 3: Oh Moon Goddess...

1072 Words
My body slams into the ground below the tree and I grunt. My vision begins to clear and I can make out Christina calling to me from the tree. "Lola what the hell! What happened?!" she yells. Just as I begin to answer her, something catches her eye and she looks back at the packhouse. I can't see what it is since I'm practically having an aneurysm here on the ground, but it seems to entrance her. She squints like she's trying to figure something out. It seems to come to her because she gasps looking from me to the thing ahead of her. "Holy shit! Lola its-" "Who the hell are you!" I hear a gruff voice ask. I raise my eyes and stare at a Blackwood fighter wolf. He looks around fifty years old, but is still in great shape. Oh and did I fail to mention, he's livid? "Ugh..." I manage to get out. "Are you a rogue?" The wolf asks with a deadly tone. I shake my head furiously not wanting to be killed. I gesture up to Christina and she climbs down. "We're not rouges. We're with Shadowed, the pack that just entered onto your lands," she explains. "That still doesn't explain why you two are nesting in a tree," he says still cautious. "We were just trying to get a lay of the land," I cough. He cocks his head to the side before helping me up. I begin to dust myself off. That weird light headed feeling is gone. Weird. I should pay visit to the pack doctor when we return home. "You two should be with your group. You could be mistaken to be rouges. Follow me, I'll bring you back," he states before turning around. "Wait! We weren't really supposed to come with them. We sorta followed them here", Christina admits, looking guilty. I throw her an angry look. She's just making the situation worse. "Ha! Well now I HAVE to bring you to them. Blackwood will not be responsible for some lost squirrels in a tree," he chuckles. Jerk. Christina links her arm through mine and smiles big. What's up with her? The fighter leads us past training rings. People stop and stare at us like we're lunch. They really are high security. I'm actually glad Christina gave us up, because we might not have made it home at the end of the night. We walk along the gravel pathway that leads to the packhouse. Pack members clear the way for us. I gulp, we're screwed when my dad gets a look at us. Christina still has that stupid smile on her face which makes me even more confused. As we approach the front of the packhouse, I see my dad's back facing me. No one sees us yet, maybe we can run. But I quickly veto that idea because I'd be in even more trouble not only with my dad but with Blackwood too. The fighter wolf stops and clears his throat. Christina quickly hides behind me, letting me be the first thing my dad sees when he turns around. "Sir, are these yours?" the fighters asks. Oh crap. Everyone turns around. And I mean everyone. Including all of the Blackwood guards and council. My eyes meet my dads and I instantly know I'm gonna get it. "Lola Evergreen! What the hell!" my dad bellows. I cringe and wave weakly. Damn this is bad. "You better believe it's bad!" my dad yells. Crap, my mind link Christina's father squints behind me and Christina ducks down. His eyes and expression match my dad's. "Christina, that better not be you." "H-Hi Daddy," she squeaks in response. Unlike my dad who's yelling at me in public, Christina's dad chooses to yell at her over mindlink. I step away so she's in full view. My dad continues to yell then pushes through the group to get to me. "You and Christina will apologize to the Alpha and Luna for interrupting our meeting!" he growls at me, pulling me forward. I grab onto Christina and drag her along. As we get closer, that same dizzy feeling comes back, but I try to focus on how I'm going to apologize to the most powerful Alpha in America. The crowd pulls away to let us through and my dad shoves his guards aside and sends us up to the front. I dig my nails into Christina's palm. Standing at a podium is Alpha Tucker looking disapprovingly back at us. Luna Rose sits in a comfy looking chair as she smiles at us. At least she seems nice. "What is the meaning of this?" Alpha Tucker asks my dad. "Tucker, this is my daughter," My dad pauses and then points at Christina, "And that is Christina, my Beta's daughter. It seems they followed me and my men here," my dad explains. "I see." Then Alpha Tucker turned to us. "Why, girls?" Christina and I instantly bow our heads in respect. "Ummmm w-we were..." I stammer. "She means we c-came ttt-to..-" Christina tries. But I can't hear her finish, my body begins to heat up with electricity. I feel lightheaded, almost triple the amount before. I stumble back a little into the chest of one of my guards. I lift a shaky hand to clutch my chest. My breath is erratic and unsteady. All attention turns to me and I see the worried looks from my father, Luna Rose, Christina, and even Alpha Tucker. I gasp trying to breathe but I can't. Sparks shock every inch of my body. I think I'm dying. 'Mate' a soft voice whispers in my head. My eyes get wide. What! Where! I begin to look around. The door to the Blackwood packhouse opens. The guards standing behind Alpha Tucker and Luna Rose move aside to let someone pass. I squint through my dizziness. My heart stops. Oh hell no. At his father's side with strong authority is Keaton Thunders. Standing there. Staring at me. Our eyes lock and the surrounds disappear. It's like fireworks, Christmas lights, and lightbulbs go off. I clutch my heart through my shirt. It feels full, complete. I feel like I'm floating on a cloud. Everything seems clear when I look at him. "Mate" I breathe. "What!" my dad and Alpha Tucker screech. "Oh my" Luna Rose gasps smiling. "Sweet motherf-" Christina screams. "Mine" Keaton growls, his eyes darkening. .
