“Hey Arya, what are you doing here, it has been a minute?” Nelson asked as the two hugged and Maya just stared at them. She had seen him somewhere but she was not sure where she had seen him.
“Hey to you, yourself, what are you even doing here?” She asked as she disentangled herself from the hug. She was also surprised to see him.
“I don’t know I should be asking you the same thing; I am surprised to see you here.”
“So, both of us are surprised to see each other here. I just came here to do some shopping with my friend here, Maya. Maya, meet the friend I was telling mom about. His name is Nelson Collymore and Nelson. This is my friend Maya” she said as she introduced the two of them.
“It is nice to meet you, Nelson.” Maya said, as the two shook hands.
“It is nice to meet you too, Maya.”
“I think I will leave you two to catch up. I will be in the car” Maya said as she excused herself and left the two talking.
“So, I think you arrived well and being on a Sunday, you decided to come here for shopping?”
“Yes, and I was about to ask you the same thing, I have only seen ladies roam around her or are you here to take your girlfriend out for shopping?” She asked, and Nelson only smiled. He wished she knew that he was bonded to get married to a lady he was yet to know, and the lady was standing in front of him, but both of them were still unaware of what was awaiting them. For Nelson, he was not to date anyone because he was now engaged to someone.
“I wish I was here to take someone out for shopping, but I am actually here to pick up a dress for my mother. She is always obsessed with the latest fancy designer clothes. Since I came to this site, she sent me to pick it up for her. She is having this thanksgiving party and she ordered this dress.”
“Oh, your mother and mine are the same, but I came here to do some shopping for some official clothes. Tomorrow is the big day. I am starting to work, so I have to look decent.”
“Ha-ha, I know, right? Anyway, I told you if you need any kind of assistance, you can just give me a call. You have my card but you haven’t even called me yet?”
“I know, I was just too tired, but don’t worry, if I need any kind of assistance, I wouldn’t hesitate to call. Thank you Nelson, I think I should let you go; I also have to go back home and rest. I need it." She said, and after talking for a little while, they finally said goodbye to each other and left. She got into the car and drove off home.

“I met with Collymore today and I talked to him about this issue." Danson told his wife that night as they were getting to bed.
“And what did he say? I can see how my daughter is happy about the whole of everything. I have never seen her so happy, she was all over jesting about how she is getting to work tomorrow. I am personally happy for her and I wouldn’t want anything to happen to her or drive her attention from work. She is for the first time happy about something.”
“Yes, I know that but we will definitely have to tell her the truth, but as for now, I suggest you try telling her or talking to her about the stories in line with the situation we are in right now, so we can know what to do with her response. So we will know how to deal with her and this situation. I honestly regret accepting that offer from Collymore. He knew what he was doing all along and knew this was his plan.”
“We were desperate at that time, honey, and we definitely can't regret that now. We already made that decision six years ago and we are going to deal with it, so don’t worry. I know she will be mad but she will get over it and she won’t hate us. She will come around, so how long do we have?” she asked, just to be sure.
“Some months, I guess that is enough for us to know how to handle everything.”
“I will talk to her, that shouldn’t worry you. I know how to handle that, so how is the club business going on?”
“It is good, I have it handled by Rodgers, he knows what to do, I trust he will do the right thing. For now, I just want to be sure that Arya can handle the company. I need to retire now. I am old, I need to take a rest from everything.” He said.
“I understand, but I wish we could breach this contract and let my daughter choose who she wants in her life, but we can’t. I have been thinking a lot about this and something tells me that Arya is not going to take all this well. She is always resistant and I wouldn’t be surprised if she said no. I gave birth to her and I know her very well. I don’t know how we will handle this but I hope I will be able to make her understand.” She said, and Danson nodded. They had a few more months to tell her the whole truth.
“You don’t worry about that, we will deal with it when the time comes, and by the way. I meant to ask what the charity event was?”
“It was nice. I met my friends at the event and they were asking about Arya. I told them maybe next time, these events will make me meet a lot of famous and successful women out there and I am hoping that our daughter will one day be, even though I never got to get a son for us.” She said.
“I told you Ruth, there is nothing to worry about, we don’t need a son to have a complete family and I have told you countless times. I love you and I am glad we have a daughter. She is equal to a son we have always been wanting. I trust and believe in her. She makes such a nice daughter and trust you, she is going to make both of us proud and that reminds me that my mother wants to visit us tomorrow." He said, and Ruth almost sneered, she and her mother-in-law did not get along quite well. The grandchild, the reason being that Ruth could not give her a son for a grandchild.
“Urgh, that woman hates my guts, I wonder what brings her this time round.” She said as she turned the bedside switch and slid under the duvets next to her husband.
“And unfortunately, that woman is my mother. I have talked to you two countless times, honey. I have told you that she is my mother and I love her and that you are my wife and the one I chose and the one I love, the mother to my daughter, and I do get it that you two don’t get long quite well but don’t you think it is time for you two to put back the difference between the two of you and learn to get along like grown ass women and chat and interact like any other mother and daughter in law?”
“You are right, but I have done my part. I have learnt to love her like my mother, but she doesn’t even recognize or appreciate my efforts. She is your mother still and I respect that.” She said, and Danson sighed. He knew where all that hatred was. But coming from. Ruth was his choice and he was proud of his daughter. He did not need a son to make him complete like his mother always said and he did not know how he was going to make her understand.
“It is okay, I just wanted to tell you lest I forget about it. I don’t want it to be a surprise when she comes, and you know she will be driving all the way from California.”
“Yes, I know honey, I know all that and she is welcome here anytime. This is like her house too. I hope we get along this time round.”
“I know you two will. I will just know how to handle her. Now we can go to sleep and let what we are doing for tomorrow not worry us. I am in a good mood today, so don’t forget that tomorrow we will be with Arya at the office to introduce him to all our employees and all the staff members, so I suggest you go to sleep and stop worrying about yourself too much. I got you.” He said, and Ruth took a deep breath
“You are right, I am even tired myself, so I think I will just go to sleep like you have said, goodnight my husband.”
“Goodnight honey.” He said, and cuddled with her until she fell asleep.
